Loving Facebook

We consider ourselves students of social media because we are always learning, always exploring, always discovering. As a speaker at a recent conference I attended said…”no one can claim they are ‘experts’ in social media because it has only been around about 3 weeks!” We are students for our clients…we are always evolving and discovering the best use of all of the social media tools, specific for their business and their sales. We learn, explore and execute for them when they don’t have the time.

So…back to Facebook…I get so excited when I see businesses having a dialog…an honest, ongoing and two way conversation with their customers. This when Facebook works for a business…this is the “connect.” I found a business tonight that has great conversations with their fans. Every post is usually a question or a comment that is relevant to their customers. And, they get responses…lots of responses. One question/invitation they recently posted - “How do you balance being a mom with working out? Share your tips” - generated 110 responses. Good responses…all of value…each generating more conversation.

This company also responds to most of their fans’ posts. The responses seem real and genuine, as if they are having a conversation with a friend. One customer asked for advice on specific gear for a trip and after answering the question, the company ended their post with “we would love it if you sent us a photo. Have a great trip! :-)” And after another response, the customer wrote again and said “it is nice to get such a quick response.”

They have 9,238 fans, and I can understand why…it isn’t just because they have great products.
